Resident-driven Activities

Staying active and involved at Bourne Manor Extended Care Facility is an important part of resident health and well-being. Our four full-time activities staff provide activities programming as unique as our residents, reflecting their interests and abilities, and promoting mental, physical and spiritual wellness. Our resident council represents resident interests and makes recommendations regarding activities and other community events.

Our schedule of activities includes:

  • Creative exercise classes
  • Trivia and brain games
  • Card games and Bingo
  • Discussion groups
  • Crafts
  • Music and sing-alongs
  • Movies
  • Current events
  • Religious services
  • Live entertainment
  • Ice cream socials
  • Pet therapy
  • Intergenerational programming
  • Outings to local restaurants and shopping

With four full-time activities staff, we plan a variety of outings. Residents enjoy going out to lunch, taking in a show at the theatre, visiting the casino, or heading to the ballpark, whether to cheer on our local AAA team or to root for our big league sluggers up in Boston. We even have a pen pal program with local students that includes occasional get-togethers for activities and snacks.
